James & the Boys - Day 13

We're home and the boys had a good sleep but what a day ahead. There is dust everywhere. I let Lincoln crawl around on the floor and he was all orange on his hands and knees.

Preston was good all morning and so was Lincoln. The day started off with washing the clothes and picking up all the dog pooh. By doing this it gave the kids free range to cruise off and do whatever they want while I try and clean up a bit.

We were running a bit short of food and supplies so we took a trip off to the shops. While there I rang the doctors for an appointment for Linc and they had 1 at 11am. I had 1.5hrs so I had heaps of time to do the shopping and take the boys for a cruise around the shopping centre….. 'Not'.

My first mistake was my wallet… I left it in the car…doh! So I put the boys in the trolley and headed back out to the car to grab the wallet. We then headed back into the shopping centre. I needed fruit but I will get that on the way out and I also need bread and I will get that on the way out also….. Because Danielle wasn't there I went down every aisle except the lolly aisle, because that looked dangerous with Presto and Danielle warned me from past experience. With Linc in the capsule and Presto in the trolley it was a mission. Presto was trying to grab everything as we went past and he soon learned not to do that again with a smack on the hand whenever it popped out of the trolley…. This just stopped one thing and led to another…. He just grabbed everything in the trolley and then proceeded to step on it all so that he could get higher and also to help him get out. He did not want to be in there. I can't imagine why though, with me going down all the aisle's, he was blocked in the corner. I ended up getting fruit & Veg in Coles but the bread I'll get on the way out. There's plenty of time…

You could tell I didn't do the shopping much because I spent $280 on food and still wasn't sure what we had for dinner tonight and the following nights…. As I paid for the food, I got ready to take the boys for a stroll before we had the doctors appointment and I looked at the time and saw that it was 10:51am…. Oh shit the appointment is in 9 minutes….. I raced out and packed the car and completely forgot the bread, which made no difference anyway because I didn't have time.

We arrived at the doctors and Presto was just bouncing off the walls. He did not want to be there and neither did I for that matter. Linc's conjunctivitis looked good this morning but I thought I would take him in just in case it got worse. The last thing I want is a sick child. It's hard enough without them being sick as well. Preston was climbing on the chairs and walls and just being a little pain in the butt. Linc on the other hand was cruising around on the floor playing until he got rough with a little girl who was also playing…. He's a rough little bugger when he wants to be. Well we eventually got in and lucky I took him in because he not only had conjunctivitis but he was also right on the verge of getting an ear infection. I was extremely lucky that he wasn't running a temp and screaming his lungs out. So we got plenty of antibiotics and eye drops to sort him out but what a mission it’s going to be. Eye drops which sting like anything 4 times a day and 2 in each eye and antibiotics 3 times a day…. I'm flat out keeping up with food let alone all this but we'll manage.

After the boys went down for a sleep Nanna came over and gave me a hand to clean everything up inside from all the dust. What a relief that was because it was a major job, especially doing all the floors and couches. The boys did wake early though from the vacuum cleaner but I've got nobody to blame except myself.

The afternoon was fun and we all had a big play on the jumping castle and Linc just loved going down the slide at the entrance.

While I got dinner ready the boys were going nuts around my feet and spilt all the jatz biscuits and crunched and smashed them all up. It was great fun…. So much for mopping earlier. What was also fun was I had just made a nice big meal for the boys and pureed Lincs meal up just like Danielle does and wow what a little punk. He hated it and was refusing to eat it. There was food going everywhere and even Presto gave it a go and as I suspected chaos… hahaha I got some custard out for him and he ate it quite fine…. I still have some left so tomorrow night he is getting the same except I might puree it some more just to see if that was the problem...

After dinner I moved all the cars out the front again so the boys had a bigger area to play in and I could see the dust storm had come in again. It was thick too so I ran inside and closed all the windows and the doors and shut the whole place up. It didn't help though because it still got in but I guess it wasn't as bad as it would have been if I left the windows open.
