James & the Boys - Day 15
Well Lincoln decided that this morning he didn't like what he was getting for Breakfast, which was the same thing he gets everyday…. Maybe I don't make it the same as Danielle or something but when he says no he means no… The head just shakes like crazy and his hands go everywhere, just so that you can't get that spoon anywhere near his mouth. If you hold his head and manage to get one in when he is crying he just spits it out everywhere…. Dam you… Oh well you get some Crumpet toast with syrup then. Seem to eat that just fine.
Just before lunch we had to pick up Uncle Gerard and Auntie Dom from the airport so we went for a drive as promised to Preston. But I think he expected to get out….
What a nightmare after they left though. I was trying to put Linc's eye drops in and he was screaming and Presto was screaming because he wanted to go to bed but I wouldn't let him until he ate some lunch. So I was the nastiest dad in the world at about 12:50pm With the boys off to bed I had some peace and quiet.
Both boys had a good sleep even though they woke up around 3:30pm each. Linc usually sleeps until 4 but he did a crap which woke him up.
Preston was in a great mood all afternoon and being really helpful with preparing dinner and was eating all his watermelon and giving some to Linc as well. I had everything under control so I started dinner early so that I would be on time for a change. The boys were fine running around in the back yard and jumping on the jumping castle and trampoline. I was going out o check on them every couple of minutes just to see that they weren't up to no good.
One time I went out, I saw that the jumping castle had been pushed against the garden retainer wall and so I went out and moved it back into place well away from everything…. Presto the cheeky little bugger ran straight back over and pushed it all the way back against the garden… I got up him and took 1 look at it thought it was alright because they weren't really jumping in it anyway, so I went back inside and continued cooking. Next thing I heard a loud 'WHACK' and then a blood curdling scream to follow. So I immediately dropped everything and ran outside to see Presto in the Jumping castle with blood pouring out of his head… I jumped inside the castle and grabbed him straight away and grabbed an old cloth nappy that was handy and held it on his head to stop the bleeding. There was a lot of claret and he was just clinging to my shoulder. When he stopped crying all he wanted was an ice block and I didn't really understand him at first until he dragged me to the freezer. Hahaha He obviously remembered that whenever he gets seriously hurt that we give him an iceblock to suck on. I laughed and found an old one in the back of the freezer and then he was all fine. I assessed the damage and it looked like Preston was about to get his first stitches, because he had a pretty nasty gash on his head. So I dropped Linc off at Auntie Tinas and took Presto down to the doctors, not before taking a few photos though…
He eventually got 2 stitches in the end and was very brave when getting the needles. When the needle went in I thought he flinched, but he saw a plane hanging from the ceiling and yelled out plane and pointed… "Mummy on a plane" He was really good. Well we went and picked up Lincoln after Auntie Tina bathed and fed him and they even gave Preston some.
When we got home I put Linc straight down after a bottle and then bathed Preston and cleaned up his wound because it was still pretty bloody. He was all good and it didn't slow him down one bit. He was still running crazy at the doctors and back at home. I swear he is going to hit his head again before mum gets home. He nearly smashed it twice in the bath….. Here's to a better day tomorrow.
